GB Adventure Club Ltd trading as The Great British Adventure Club ("GBAC")

1. Introduction

GB Adventure Club Ltd, trading as The Great British Adventure Club ("GBAC", "we", "us", "our"), acts as an intermediary platform connecting customers ("you", "your") with third-party providers of trips, guided walks, and wild camping experiences (the "Experiences"). GBAC does not own, operate, or control any of the Experiences listed on our platform.

2. Booking and Payment

All bookings must be made through the GBAC website or authorised channels.

Full payment is required at the time of booking.

Your booking is only confirmed once full payment has been received and you have received a confirmation email from us.

3. Role of GBAC

GBAC acts solely as an agent for third-party providers of Experiences.

The contract for the provision of the Experience is between you and the relevant third-party provider.

GBAC is not responsible for the delivery, quality, safety, legality, or any aspect of the Experience provided by third parties.

4. Cancellations and Refunds

You may cancel your booking at any time by notifying us in writing.

Refunds will be issued as follows:

  • 90% refund for cancellations made more than 60 days before the Experience start date.

  • 50% refund for cancellations made between 30 and 60 days before the Experience start date.

  • No refund for cancellations made less than 30 days before the Experience start date.

No refunds will be issued for failure to attend or late arrivals.

No refund will be issued where you are refused participation in an Experience by the third-party provider due to late arrival at the designated start point or failure to bring the required clothing or equipment as specified by the guide or Experience description (see clauses 6.4 and 6.5).

No refund will be issued where you are removed from or refused continuation of an Experience due to behaviour, intoxication, or non-compliance with guide instructions (see clauses 6.7 and 6.8).

5. Changes and Cancellations by Providers

Third-party providers reserve the right to alter or cancel Experiences due to weather, safety, or other circumstances beyond their control.

In the event of cancellation by the provider, you will be offered a suitable alternative or a full refund.

Trips may be cancelled if insufficient bookings have been made; in this event you will be offered a similar trip of similar value or a full refund.

GBAC is not liable for any additional costs incurred due to such changes or cancellations.

6. Participant Responsibilities

You are responsible for ensuring you are physically and mentally fit to participate in the Experience.

You must disclose to the guide or third-party provider, prior to the start of the Experience, any medical condition, allergy, injury, or medication that may affect your ability to participate safely or that may require emergency intervention. Failure to disclose relevant medical information may affect your safety and could result in refusal of participation without refund.

You must comply with all instructions and safety guidelines provided by the third-party provider.

You are responsible for bringing appropriate equipment, clothing, and supplies as specified in the Experience description.

It is your responsibility to arrive at the designated start point on time, as stated in your booking confirmation or as communicated by the guide. Failure to arrive on time may result in you being refused participation in the Experience without entitlement to a refund.

It is your responsibility to ensure you are equipped with all clothing and equipment specified by the guide or Experience description prior to the start of the Experience. The guide or third-party provider reserves the right to refuse participation to any person deemed inadequately equipped, where this presents a safety risk or operational concern. No refund will be issued in such circumstances.

The guide or third-party provider reserves the right to remove any participant from an Experience at any point during the trip if, in their reasonable judgement, that participant's behaviour, physical condition, or failure to comply with instructions poses a risk to themselves, other participants, or the safe delivery of the Experience. No refund will be issued in such circumstances, and any costs associated with removal or evacuation will be the responsibility of the participant.

You must not participate in any Experience whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The guide or third-party provider reserves the right to refuse or terminate participation where intoxication or drug use is suspected, without entitlement to a refund.

7. Age Requirements

Participants must be 18 years of age or older to book and participate in an Experience independently.

Participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult throughout the Experience, who accepts these Terms and Conditions on their behalf.

GBAC and its third-party providers reserve the right to request proof of age at any point. Failure to provide satisfactory proof may result in refusal of participation without refund.

8. Liability

Participation in Experiences involves inherent risks. By booking, you acknowledge and accept these risks.

GBAC accepts no liability for injury, loss, damage, or expenses incurred as a result of your participation in any Experience, except where required by law.

Any claims or complaints regarding the Experience should be directed to the third-party provider.

9. Insurance

We strongly recommend you obtain suitable travel, health, and personal accident insurance before participating in any Experience.

10. Photography and Media

Photographs, video, and other media may be captured during Experiences by guides, third-party providers, or GBAC representatives.

By booking an Experience, you consent to such media being used by GBAC for marketing, promotional, and editorial purposes across our website, social media channels, and other communications, unless you notify us in writing prior to the Experience start date that you do not consent to this use.

Where media features a participant who is a minor, additional written consent from a parent or legal guardian will be obtained before any such content is published or used.

We will not sell your image or likeness to third parties without your explicit consent.

11. Data Protection

We will process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws.

12. Changes to These Terms

GBAC reserves the right to update or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.

Any changes will take effect upon publication on our website, with the date of last update indicated at the top of this document.

Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify customers with existing bookings by email.

Continued use of our platform or participation in an Experience following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.

13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

By booking an Experience with GBAC, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
