Ready to push your limits and experience one of Britain’s most iconic mountain challenges in fast and light style? This guided 1-night, 2-day adventure traverses all fifteen of Wales’ 3,000ft peaks in one continuous journey
The Adventure
From the towering summit of Snowdon to the far reaches of the Carneddau. You’ll move efficiently over high ground, tackling knife-edge ridges, rocky scrambles, and sprawling mountain plateaus under the guidance of an expert leader who knows this route better than anyone. Expect an immersive journey like no other — equal parts physical challenge and spiritual reward — with time to appreciate the stark beauty and rhythm of the mountains along the way.
Who Is It For
This is a mountain challenge for those who train with intent and thrive on testing their endurance. Ideal for trail runners, fastpackers, and strong hikers seeking to link every Welsh 3000ft peak in one go — without the burden of heavy packs or navigational uncertainty. You’ll move fast but smart, learning to balance pace with mountain awareness. Expect a shared sense of purpose, self-discipline, and exhilaration that comes only from pushing deep into the hills with like-minded adventurers.
Trip Itinerary
-
Meet your guide and fellow fastpackers at Llanberis (SH 58264 59809) at 13:00 for introductions, a comprehensive kit check, and a route briefing. You’ll set up a car shuttle to Rowen, ensuring your vehicles await at the finish line, before returning for an evening meal in Llanberis.
As twilight settles, shoulder your light packs and begin the steady ascent towards Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon), aiming to make camp just below the summit. Watch the sunset fade across Eryri’s rugged skyline and settle in for a night under the stars — or, for the hardy, a bivvy just off the peak itself.
-
Up before dawn to summit Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) by first light — the symbolic start of the Welsh 3000s challenge. From there, move swiftly across Garnedd Ugain and Crib Goch, before dropping down to Nant Peris. Here, you’ll regroup and resupply before tackling the next range: the spectacular Glyderau, including Y Garn, Glyder Fawr, and the unmistakable spires of Tryfan.
After a quick refresh in the Ogwen Valley, it’s straight up and into the wild expanse of the Carneddau, ticking off summit after summit — Pen yr Ole Wen, Carnedd Dafydd, Carnedd Llewelyn, and finally Foel Fras — before descending to Rowen (SH 72107 71546) and the finish of this epic mountain traverse. Expect tired legs, a full heart, and a story few others can tell.
Your guide, Antony Fleming-Williams, has completed this route more than any other — his knowledge, pacing, and careful planning give you the best possible chance of success on this demanding journey.
-
